The Surf Lodge: Montauk NY

For decades, Montauk on the east end of Long Island has been considered the un-Hampton, a sleepy fishing village with the regions most beautiful coastline. Residents of Montauk, ranging from deep-sea fishermen, surfers, artists, actors, and others all share a deep love for the area and the discreet laidback nature it provides.125 miles from New York City, Montauk is a major tourist destination and boasts six state parks.

THE SURF LODGE, located on Fort Pond in Montauk, is just a half-mile from the beach and set on a breathtaking pond where the sunsets are grand. The location is key and the environment is truly "Montauk";flip-flops, vintage Land Rovers, surfboards on the roof, a lakeside bonfire, all set to a soundtrack of Bob Marley to the Rolling Stones, but with an international taste level and an underlying energy.

THE DEN at THE SURF LODGE is the perfect respite for those looking for a quick relaxing cocktail, to meet up with friends, or to bide their time while waiting on a table at the restaurant.

Low-slung seating in a living-room type setting have great views of the projection screen showing classic surf films 24 hours a day. THE DEN also presents an opportunity to hang out and to play a board game with a friend or to spend some alone time with a book from our extensive library.

The Bar is a relaxed environment to grab a beer from an extensive selection on tap, grab a quick burger at the bar, or to try one of the many types of tropical cocktails our mixologists have created specifically for The Surf Lodge. Open all day, it is the après-surf spot to meet up with friends after a long day on the beach.

The Restaurant is laid back and elegant; an indoor/outdoor hangout for guests and locals wanting to dine, celebrate, or enjoy a cocktail and a burger after a day at the beach.

With Executive Chef Sam Talbot at the helm, the cuisine is fine dining without the fuss. Drawing from his childhood spent on the beaches of South Carolina, Talbot keeps the food fresh and from Montauk's local purveyors, with seafood caught daily and a menu built around seasonal ingredients.

Surf, Sand or Sun, whatever your reason is to hit the beach, the deluxe (and ultra cool!) shuttle will get you there in style.
